Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam is committed to a healthy population and excellence in healthcare through research and education. Erasmus MC holds over 80 projects funded by the European Commission, of which 70 Horizon 2020 projects including collaborations with partners from 56 countries worldwide. Bibliometric indicators place Erasmus MC in the top 20 of clinical medicine worldwide. In addition to scientific research, patient care and education are core tasks of Erasmus MC. It is the top referral centre for a region of about five million inhabitants.
The Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology houses a large inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) outpatient clinic with about 350 new patients with IBD each year and in total 2500 outpatients.
Main tasks in the project
EMC is the clinical leader for inflammatory bowel disease and will participate in the IBD clinical study in WP2 and WP6.
