University of Brescia (UNIBS) is a teaching and research University based in the North of Italy. The key component of the University of Brescia is the focus on health and wealth with a specific strategic plan for both education and research activities. UNIBS has a world-class reputation in ageing and health research and it is leading 15 H2020 projects focused on technology and health. UNIBS hosts an Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute with strong link to clinical and research activities.
The main focus of the Centre is neurophysiological assessment and trials in movement disorder and dementia by using wearing sensors, and stimulation such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation. Since 2016, the Parkinson’s disease Rehabilitation Centre of the European Research Foundation became part of the research network of the University of Brescia.
Main tasks in the project
UNIBS will participate in the Clinical Validation Study in Parkinson’s disease and Huntington disease patients. It will thus elaborate and adjust the clinical protocol, recruit and follow the patients with neurodegenerative diseases using different technology in home assessment.
