Stavanger University Hospital was founded more than 80 years ago. SUS offers health care services to a population of more than 330.000 people. The main hospital is situated in Stavanger, but it has several clinics and medical centres spread over a large geographic area, as well as prehospital units. Stavanger University Hospital has research as an integrated part of its business.It is located in the Våland burrough.

Prof. Roald Omdal is a Professor in the Department of Clinical Science at the University of Bergen and the Clinical Immunology Unit at the Stavanger University Hospital. The Clinical Immunology Research Group focus on central nervous system manifestations of autoimmune diseases, and genetic and biological mechanisms of chronic fatigue in diseases like primary Sjögren´s syndrome (pSS), SLE, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel diseases, etc.

Role in IDEA-FAST

Involved in the clinical observational study:

– Recruit and investigate 30 patients with SLE
– Recruits patients with pSS as well as healthy control subjects.

• Systemic lupus erythematosus – 30
• Primary Sjögren’s syndrome – 30
• Healthy controls – 25
