FCiências.ID – Associação para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Ciências (FC.ID), is a Non-Profit Private Association, endowed with legal personality. It was created in 2017 as an common initiative of Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL) – a Higher Education institution – and 6 private companies, in order to support, potentiate and develop Research and Development (R&D) and innovation activities of its seven associates, while, simultaneously enhancing FCUL strategic partnerships with market and services companies, therefore creating a more challenging environment for research and innovation. Main tasks in the project
  • In WP2, FC.ID will collaborate in the design and implementation of the feasibility study. In this WP, FC.ID will also participate in activities that engage stakeholders and collect their views, opinions, and preliminary validation data. FC.ID’s team has been working with clinicians and patients with Parkinson’s in the last two years assessing the usage of wearable sensors, usable EPROs, and the presentation of data-driven reports. FC.ID’s contribution will build on top of this expertise and benefit from ongoing deployments.
  • In WP3, FC.ID will collaborate in device selection, and will support the adjustment and integration of existing approaches for subjective and objective data collection in the project developments. FC.ID will also lend its HCI expertise to the user experience and usability testing of candidate devices and applications.
  • In WP4, FC.ID will contribute to the evaluation of performance of candidate device-specific digital endpoints, building on previous experience with data-driven visualizations for clinical decision making.
  • Throughout the project, FC.ID will act as a dedicated advocate for the accessibility of all user-facing technologies, addressing an important ethical issue of digital technology: bias against those with disabilities, older subjects or poor economic status.
