MUI is the most important educational and medical research facility in Western Austria. Its main objectives are to provide top quality teaching, training and research as well as continuous advancements in top-flight medicine. Participation in EU-supported projects has been an important part if scientific landscape at MUI and is reflected by active participation in numerous projects in the frame of H2020 and FP7, both as consortium partner or as coordinator. Building on its international visibility in the field of clinical trials (both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated) and scientific projects in a variety of research areas, and the availability of a Clinical Trial Coordination Centre (CTC), MUI specifically wants to enhance its activity in the field of academic clinical studies.

Main tasks in the project

MUI will fulfil its tasks within WP6. The main role of MUI will be to recruit patients for the clinical validation study (Task 6.5.) (current recruitment plan of 105 patients and 5 healthy volunteers). Moreover, MUI will cooperate in coordinating study management at the site and in ensuring compliance and principles of GCP during conduct of the study (Tasks 6.2 and 6.3).
