Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow (UGLAS) has a tradition of excellence as the fourth oldest university in the UK. It is a member of the elite Russell Group of leading UK research universities and a founding member of Universitas21. UGLAS is a world-leading research-intensive institution. In recognition of its employment practices that specifically support the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) in higher education, UGLAS has been awarded an Athena SWAN Institutional Bronze Award. The Institution also holds an ‘HR excellence in research’ award.

The Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, led by Professor Iain McInnes, brings together world-leading basic, applied, clinical and translational researchers to study infection, with a focus on the viral, parasitic and bacterial pathogens of both humans and animals and immunology and inflammation, with a focus on chronic inflammatory diseases.

Main tasks in the project

In WP6, UGLAS will work closely with all clinical partners, patient advisory board and relevant patient organisations, to ensure effective recruitment and retention of participants in the clinical validation study.
